COVID-19 Food Truck Update
Given the current situation with the Covid-19 outbreak and the recommendations set forth by our local and national government, Food Truck will be changing the way we distribute food and the families and individuals we serve.
Due to the CDC and White House recommendation that people do not gather into groups of ten or more, Food Truck will move to a "Drive-Thru" method and consolidate our sites from nine to one. Food Truck will take place from 12pm-5pm, Monday-Friday at Park West Church Dutch Valley (1416 Breda Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918) until further notice. This is a current Food Truck site and is centrally located to most of our other sites. The church is next door to the Dream Center.
Moving forward, we are asking that only seniors and those families that rely on Knox County Schools for daily meals come to Food Truck to receive. These are some of the most vulnerable families and people in Knoxville, so we want to concentrate on them first and foremost.
We are in need of volunteers. We will have two (2 1/2 hour shifts) available each day, to both keep our numbers down, and to effectively serve our community. These volunteers are to report to the church. Also we have a food prep shift for those who would like to prepare the food kits going out. These volunteers are to report to the Dream Center Under no circumstances do we need volunteers to come if you are experiencing any symptoms. If you would like to volunteer, please click the link below.
Lastly, we are in need of food donations. Since it is hard to do food drives right now, monetary donations are preferred as we can purchase what is necessary from our suppliers. However, if you have any food donations like chips, snacks, non perishable items, please bring them by the Dream Center. Our monetary donation link is included in this post.
If you have any questions, you can email us at , DM us on our Facebook page, or chat with us on our website, knoxvilledreamcenter.org.
Even though our current situation makes it difficult to serve, we a finding creative ways to minister and meet the needs of our community. Let's make this an opportunity and a way to show Christ's love in the middle of a trying time.
