KDC Book Mobile
The KDC Book Mobile inspires reading by delivering free books to children in Knox County Title-One Schools. Our heart is to partner with nonprofits, companies, and community groups in order to connect under resourced children to the books they love! Furthermore, our desire is to champion literacy initiatives across the county!
One such initiative is Mayor Glenn Jacobs' Read City USA initiative. Click here and go to the Read City USA website for more information.
Reading to and with children can make a world of difference!
Currently, the KDC Book Mobile is looking for book donations. Here is a couple ways you can help...
Collect books around the house!
Do you have any children's books lying around the house? Let us find a new home for them!
Start a Book Drive!
Along with your community group, your class, or your coworkers, collect new and gently used books. This is a great way to bring people together.
KDC wants to play its part in promoting childhood and family literacy. We would love your help! Partner with us and be a catalyst in inspiring children to read all over Knox County!
All book donations can be brought to the Knoxville Dream Center Monday through Friday 9am-4pm or on Fridays 9am-12pm.
If you are a teacher or school administrator who works at a Title-One School and would like to make a request for the Book Mobile to come to your school or event, submit a request below. We will look over all requests and get back to you soon!
